Abstract

This study emphasizes that form elements are the main tools in planning and design which aim to describe and classify discussions in the form of an analysis of existing basic forms and their role in spatial organization. In line with the times, there are general changes in planning which eventually becomes problematic for a designer to select, test and manipulate these elements so that they are interrelated with one another to make sense. The organization of space from functions and facades from basic forms, as well as structures is an enclosure (unity) that produces an architectural design or work according to its activities and objectives. Most of this research refers to the drawings of architectural works in modern times and their theories. A series of historical styles appear time and time again with the aim of arousing the feeling of searching for similarities that lie within seemingly dissimilar formations. Understanding the similarities of historical forms will help show the differences according to style and era. The discussion will focus on the work of Le Corbusier, an architect who lived in modern times between 1887 and died in 1965, so his work is called a modern style. On the design of the house Villa Savoye, Poissy, Paris (1928), which was built for his mother. Le Corbusier explains the Five point in Architecture (five Points of a new Architecture) – a free plan, a free facade, pilotis, a terrace and ribbon Windows which means that, Modern architecture has the characteristics of a simple form, clean without ornament, spaces without partitions, by highlighting the structure of the building (pilotis), and having terraces and windows. In this study, we will explore several works of Lee Corbusier as evidence that will show five points in Lee Corbusier's architectural works
